Lorraine Kinnear is the new resource hub manager at the Westminster base.
Q1- Where did you work previous to joining the JCT team?
For the past 13 years I have been an ordained minister within The Salvation Army. I trained at their college for 2 years in Denmark hill. My work was very intense and varied and has taken me far and wide around the United Kingdom. During the pandemic I ran a 5 day week Homeless drop-in providing showers, food, and a safe place to rest for the street homeless in Camden and Westminster. This was when I received clarity on what my future should look like, I have loved my work in The Salvation Army and developed a wide range of skills over time but it was now time for a change.
Q2- What are you most passionate about and why?
Firstly I am passionate about seeing people’s lives transformed, being a voice for the voiceless and showing hope to the hopeless, this is why working with people who are homeless is so important to me, supporting them to find their way on to the Housing pathway with the support they need, is so valuable and I am looking forward to sharing in this work with the rest of the LJC team.
Q3- Could you tell us more about your life away from work?
I have been married since 2009 and we have two beautiful daughters who keep us very busy.
I am also a school governor which I really enjoy.
We enjoy lots of days out has a family it is important to keep that balance of work and family.
